Stevie Ray Vaughn, was the younger brother of Jimmie Vaughan and front man for Double Trouble, Vaughan moved to Austin at the age of 17 and began his music career. “Jimmie actually was one of the biggest influences on my playing,” as well as many other players of the time like BB King to name one.
He played loud, swing-driven fusion of blues and rock. Stevie Ray Vaughn became the leading musician of the blues rock sound. His debut Texas Flood, released in June 1983, became a double-platinum record, Vaughan played in a succession of bands, including Blackbird, the Shantones, the Epileptic Marshmallow, and Cracker Jack. He also played bass in Jimmie’s band, Texas Storm, for a brief period.
