A Movie Review on THE BOUNTY HUNTER

“The Bounty Hunter” is an Andy Tennant film that stars Gerard Butler as Milo Boyd and Jennifer Aniston as Nicole Hurley. The two has shared a past relationship being ex-spouses to each other. Milo has become a bounty hunter while Nicole has her own successful media career to run. She is currently working on a murder cover-up story and Milo was surprised to see that her ex-wife was caught in a non-serious offense relative to a traffic violation and up for bounty hunters’ pursuit.
Once their paths crossed, there were tons of screaming at each other and non-stop fighting along the way. They seem to have made it a point to just simply kill each other at every chance they would get. Even though the early introductions made it clear that they are not very much into each other, audience are already aware of the upcoming cliche that the two would still end up together.
Actually, that is just one of the many cliches found in this movie. There is the lead actor driving a vintage convertible car and a carefree attitude towards all aspects of his life. Car chases after another and then there was the trip to Las Vegas where he started gambling back again and looses all the winnings in the end.
You can expect a lot of crotch-kicking actions as Nicole tries to run for her life all the time. Though it’s pretty amusing to find the lady handcuffed to a bed post and car dashboards, while managing to escape in the end, it was silly to find the leading actor would fail to do so in his end.
I sincerely think that it’s not at all possible to find someone as beautiful and attractive as Nicole to be spending the night in bed with a douche co-worker out of mere loneliness. I can’t get the words to describe how such event would be at all possible in the least.
I wasn’t satisfied at all with Aniston’s performance for this movie. It seemed to be a mere continuation of her role in her previous film “Love Happens”. There wasn’t any balance between drama and comedy for this film but I was grateful since the flow of the story would have made a better outcome with more on the comic side.
There wasn’t much positive ratings given to this film and there is no question why. There are a lot of scenes that are particularly stereo type in nature and the audience would actually feel that it’s one movie that would be better off left watched on its cable or TV premier.
