Although any kind of party is a good idea, people seem to enjoy themselves more and get involved more when it’s a themed party. There’s an endless supply of different themes that you could choose from, but but a favorite with everyone whatever their age, is a western theme party. Having a summer barbecue grill with a western party theme virtually guarantees that everyone will have a good time. Adults and children alike all love to dress up in western costumes and play at being cowboys.
Ask all your guests to dress up. This can either be in the form of a general western costume or you could get them to choose a character from a cowboy movie. It’s a lot of fun to attend a party with Clint Eastwood, Woody from Toy Story and the Lone Ranger. You could let them choose a famous cowboy for themselves or allocate each one with a specific character so that everyone wears a different costume. Then you can play soundtracks from the top western movies and get your guests to guess which track is from which film. Allocate a special prize to the guest with the best knowledge of cowboy movies.
Another great thing about throwing a Western theme party is that the food is really easy to make and virtually everyone likes it. You can have steaks, hot dogs and grilled corn, anything that you can put on a grill would work for a cowboy party.
If you use some decorative western party supplies then they will add to the atmosphere and you can just throw them away at the end of the night. Having no washing up at the end of the party is a definite added bonus.
