Born in Shimla, India on March 1955, Anupam Kher is a famous Bollywood actor who has received a number of awards in the prestigious Indian Filmfare Festival. As a child, Anupam went into the D.A.V. School of Shimla and at the age of 27, he entered show business and made his debut film, Aagman. After two years, he did another film, entitled Saaransh, for which he played the role of a retired man who lost a son.

Aside from acting in films, he also did hosting in several TV shows, including Say Na Something to Anupam Uncle and Lead India. Anupam also ventured into directing, producing, and writing plays. The famous play, which he wrote and for which he also appeared, is Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai.
Recently, Anupam was appointed as the goodwill ambassador of Pratham Education Foundation, an institution whose goal is to help improve the education of children in India.
